WWI - Trench Art & Souvenirs
One of the neatest Grave Markers I've ever seen. This and the other one I have listed, are from an old Pa. collection. It is made of cast iron and is heavy. Marked on the front with "R. I.", which I take to be Rhode Island. There are no markings on the reverse and what I think is very neat are the two stakes that go into the ground, they are like the crucifix blades of a Lebel Rifle Bayonet. Buy them when you see them.
I don't do many of these, but this I had to....from the Philadelphia American Legions and marked 1921 on the reverse. I believe it to be bronze, as it is not magnetic and is very heavy. This originally came from an old Pa. collection and I got the chance to buy it back from the last owner, due to money problems. Buy them when you see them.
